eighbourhood House Week

Weekly Update W/E 3/5/19

Welcome back from the Easter and School Holiday break – welcome to Term 2.

Our newsletter has been printed and will be available from this afternoon and, shortly, online through our website.

Eating with Friends Community Lunch – Friday 3 May at 12 noon

The first Friday of the month is our Eating with Friends Community Lunch.

The specials this week are:

Moroccan Lemon Chicken with fruit and nut cous cous and warm vegetarian salad

  • (Vegan option) Pumpkin and chickpea curry with fruit and nut cous cous and warm vegetarian salad
  • Please feel free to come along some beautiful food and company at $6.00 for two course.

School Holiday Excursion

Our Term 2 School Holiday Excursion was a bus trip to Woody’s Skate and Play.

We had 50 people attend and everyone had an absolute ball. Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers and families for your enthusiastic support.
We hope to have some photos to share shortly.

Neighbourhood House Week – Wednesday 8 May at 12 noon

Please come and join us for Neighbourhood House Week at 12 noon on Wednesday week so we can blow some bubbles to celebrate and finish with a BBQ.

The event is open to all community members, especially families with young children, although, as we all know, bubbles bring out the child in all of us.

I have sent a Calendar invite as a reminder for everyone.

Family Matters Program Commences tomorrow

We are very excited about our partnership parenting program, a collaboration between Kingston Library (thanks Allyson) and KNH, commencing tomorrow. We have a full complement of parents and we are looking to achieve some exciting outcomes for families in our community.

Flu Shots

Please consider getting your Flu Shot this year. We support a healthy workplace and try to reduce the presence of communicable diseases as much as possible. The shots cost $19.95 (no concession) and are generally available from local pharmacies – it may be worth ringing to make a booking or you can book online.

Volunteer Wanted

We are looking for a volunteer to support ySpace Youth Program activities in Term 2 at Kingston Neighbourhood House.
The ySpace Youth Program is a weekly activity and event program during school term. You will be required to have a current Working with Vulnerable People Check and National Police Check (KNH can organise that for you).

If you are interested please contact Sanae or David on 6229 4066.
