2026 AGM

The Kingston Neighbourhood House AGM will be held on:

Wednesday 4th November 2026 at 5.30 pm
Kingston Neighbourhood House, 24 Hawthorn Drive, Kingston

 An independent facilitator will assist with the conduct of the meeting, in accordance with the chairing arrangements prescribed by the KNH Constitution.

 In accordance with Rule 13 of the KNH Constitution, the ordinary business of the AGM will include:

• Confirmation of the minutes of the previous AGM and any general meetings held since.

• Receipt and consideration of reports on the activities and operations of the Association during the previous financial year.

• Presentation of the annual financial statements and any required audit or financial reports.

• Election of ordinary Board members in accordance with the Constitution.

• Appointment of the auditor and approval of remuneration, where required.

• Determination of the annual membership subscription.

• Consideration of any proposed constitutional amendments or other business properly notified in accordance with the Constitution, where applicable. 

Board vacancies

Kingston Neighbourhood House is seeking Expressions of Interest from community members interested in joining its Board as part of an upcoming governance transition.

 The Board comprises four office-bearer positions and up to five ordinary Board member positions. Elections and appointments will be undertaken in accordance with the KNH Constitution, with office bearers selected by the Board following the AGM. 

 The position of Public Officer will also need to be filled. This is a separate statutory role and does not require the appointee to be a member of the Board.

 Expressions of Interest – KNH Board

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now invited from people interested in contributing to the governance and future direction of Kingston Neighbourhood House. Advance EOIs close at 9.00 am on Monday 2nd November 2026. EOIs received by this deadline will be included in the candidate information prepared for the AGM.

 In accordance with Rule 26 of the KNH Constitution, nominations for ordinary Board positions may also be proposed and seconded from the floor of the AGM. Board elections and eligibility will be managed in accordance with the Constitution.

 Prospective Board members are asked to confirm in their EOI their willingness and ability to meet applicable governance and safeguarding requirements, including:

• Working with Vulnerable People registration requirements.

• National Police Check requirements.

• Disclosure of any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest, including relationships or interests involving House staff, operations or functions.

• Commitment to the responsibilities, confidentiality and conduct expected of Board members.

• A short statement outlining why they would like to be considered for a KNH Board position, which will be shared with eligible voting members at the AGM to support the election process.

 All EOIs enquiries will be managed confidentially. Candidate statements and relevant nomination information will be presented at the AGM to support the election of ordinary Board members.

 Membership eligibility, subscriptions and voting arrangements will be managed in accordance with the KNH Constitution. Operational enquiries should continue to be directed to Michael in his capacity as House Administrator.
