Earn and learn

Weekly Update W/E 17/5/2019

We are looking forward to a busy week this week.

We are planning to fill the garden beds with quality veggie soil and plant some winter vegetables; we will be doing some work on the Pizza Oven to try and get it operational; and we have John’s Hooper’s farewell (EO of Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania) later this week.

Volunteer Celebration for National Volunteer Week (venue to be advised)

Thursday 30th May 5.00pm – 7.30pm – Please keep this date and time free.

  • We will be hosting a get together to celebrate the contribution of volunteers to KNH
  • We will let you know the venue when we have it finalised. (I’ll also send a Calendar Invite as a Reminder)

Neighbourhood House Week – Bubble Blowing

Our Bubble Blowing for Neighbourhood Houses Week last Wednesday was a blast, we had some very happy children and parents and some very happy politicians.

Family, Food & Dinner Night – Kingston Neighbourhood House and Salvation Army

Steve will be hosting a family fun dinner evening on Wednesday 22nd May and then for the following two weeks, ie 29th May and 5thJune.

We are looking forward to hosting our first family evening meal which will be prepared by our lovely volunteer Amber.

Earn & Learn

We are pleased to be participating in Woolworths Earn and Learn for 2019.

We have a donation box at Woolworths Kingston Town and one at KNH.

Last year we bought some great items for the Child Care Centre and hope to do the same this year.

Volunteer Wanted

We are looking for a volunteer to support ySpace Youth Program activities in Term 2 at KNH.

The ySpace Youth Program is a weekly activity and event program during school term and they have a variety of exciting events .  You will be required to have a current Working with Vulnerable People Check and National Police Check (KNH can organise that for you).
